Fr. Catura was ordained a priest on November 9, 1996, which also happened to be his 26
th birthday, for the Archdiocese of Caceres, one of 72 Archdioceses in the Philippines, the only Christian nation in Asia, and where almost 90 percent of the population is Roman Catholic. He came to the United States on May 21, 2013 as a missionary in the Diocese of Orlando; part of a program of the Archdiocese of Caceres.
Fr. Catura started his priestly ministry in the USA, specifically in Florida, when Bishop John Noonan assigned him as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Deltona, in 2013. On November 1, 2014, he was assigned to Holy Family Catholic Church in Orlando as Parochial Vicar. This was later followed by his assignment on June 1, 2017 as Parochial Vicar at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kissimmee. After a year at Holy Redeemer, Bishop Noonan entrusted to his pastoral care St Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Poinciana as Parochial Administrator Pro-Tem.
Coming from a large family of ten, he is privileged to have a second priest in the family since five years ago, Fr. Alfeo Catura, his youngest sibling. Fr. Catura is an active, friendly, joyful person and very much dedicated to his ministry as a priest.
